Most wedding card and guest book messages follow the same shape: congratulate the couple, wish them well for their life together, and sign off warmly. Two or three sentences is plenty. Pick a line below and add their names.
Congratulations on your wedding
- Wishing you a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness. Congratulations!
- So happy to witness this!
- Congratulations to you both. So happy to celebrate with you today.
From family
- You both are adorable. Congrats love.
- Sweetie! Look at you. Little princess has grown up so much.
- Welcome to the family! We are so happy to have you.
Short wedding card messages
- Best wishes to you both.
- Love and congratulations.
- So happy for you two.
From a coworker or group
- Congratulations from all of us at [team]! Wishing you a wonderful day and a happy life together.
- The whole team sends love and best wishes on your wedding.
- Congratulations! Enjoy every moment, and do not even think about email.
Funny wedding wishes
- Marriage tip: the correct answer is always "yes, dear".
- Marriage tip: let her pick the sofa.
- Congratulations on finding someone ready to put up with you forever.
How to write a wedding card
- Address both people. "Dear Sara and Omar" or "To the happy couple".
- Congratulate them first.
- Add a wish for their life together.
- Add one personal line if you know them well: how they met, a trip together, what you love about them as a couple.
- Sign off. "With love", "Warmest wishes" or "Best wishes" all work.
- Mention the gift only lightly, like "A little something for your new home". Do not mention amounts.
How to sign a wedding card
For a close friend, "With love" or "Love always" feels right. For a coworker or someone you know less well, use "Best wishes" or "Warmest congratulations". If you are signing as a couple or family, put all the names: "With love, Sam and Lina".
